Gary M. Deutsch, MD
Dr. Gary M. Deutsch was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, and completed his undergraduate education at Washington University in St. Louis. He attended Rush Medical College and then graduated from University of California San Francisco in Primary Care Internal Medicine. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, COPD, arthritis, and digestive disorders, with an emphasis on preventative care. He has been involved with sports medicine and nutritional disorders, and he uses conventional Western medicine as well as alternative medical means to address the emotional, spiritual, and dietary needs of his patients.
Dr. Deutsch is married to Catherine and has 6 boys. He has been very active in youth sports as a coach for 20 years and safety director for AYSO. He enjoys snow skiing, hiking, cycling, camping, golf, and most recently, stand up paddle boarding.
He has donated time to Stand Down helping homeless Vets, and has been on the board of directors of Santa Clara Valley Hospice, ValleyCare IPA, and St. John’s Hospital. He is on staff at Santa Paula Hospital, VCMC, Community Memorial Hospital, and St. John’s Hospital.
Dr. Deutsch’s professional goals are to maintain the private practice model of care for the individual patient while delivering outstanding healthcare, improving quality of life, and preventing illness.
