Theresa Broms is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She received her undergraduate degree in Nursing at the University of San Francisco and went on to work as a community health nurse, providing services to children and families with substance abuse issues. She then completed her Master’s Degree in Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner at the University of California, San Francisco in 1997.
She worked for Kaiser Permanente, Hawaii in Honolulu for a year before returning back to California to work at Covenant House California (a multi-service program for homeless youth in Hollywood). In this position she worked closely with the Department of Adolescent Medicine at Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles to provide medical and psychiatric services to residential and non-residential youth. To augment her practice, she completed a post-graduate program at UCLA in Neuropsychiatry for Primary Care and went on to teach in the graduate Nursing Program at UCLA for two years.
She then worked at the Santa Monica-UCLA Rape Treatment center for three years providing forensic exams for sexual assault and sexual abuse victims. She then moved to the private sector to work in Urology, specializing in Men’s Health and female urological issues and then to Primary Care and Urgent Care in Santa Clarita.
She grew up in Thousand Oaks and is pleased to have moved back to this area to be closer her large family. She enjoys gardening, biking, and golfing.
